Pretty flowers in my backyard :) I really like the light in the background of this image as well, it adds an interesting effect. Taken on 26/8/11.

In my film photography class we are studying modernism and I have chosen to make still life images, which was a bit more challenging than the other choices (Architecture and human form). In this still life I used; 2 wine glasses and an attachment of a smoking table.

This photograph was taken at the National Botanic Gardens on the weekend (13/8/11). I thought that the plant looked pretty interesting, so I decided to make it the main subject for the image, instead of the purple flowers, which add to the background.

I really like the detail in this photo. I don't have a macro lens yet, but the close-ups on my Nikon seem to work quite nicely, in my opinion! :) (It looks a lot better if you click on the photo, I promise!) Aperture f/5.6. Photo taken March 2011.
