The Magician

This image is from my newest project: Remaking Tarot cards - without people. This particular image is my interpretation of “The Magician” card. There will be a total of 9 images in the series when I finish :)

These four images were taken for a self-directed task. I decided to take "self-portraits" without my body appearing in them. Instead, I used objects that best represent me. My red shoes appear in every image because that was the best visual representation of me as I wear them all the time.
Other objects that appear in the images say something different about me in each image. The top image is of the contents of my handbag emptied out neatly onto the grass, to show all the items that I like to carry with me at all times. The second image is of an easel with an artwork of mine sitting on it beside the lake. The third image is of my computer and a book in a park, while the last image is of a Uruguayan jacket, Uruguayan flag and a Uruguayan máte, showing my Uruguayan heritage.

In my new photography assignment, I decided to take commercial style photographs of my favourite food - cupcakes! I took several different sets of photographs and am still in the process of editing them. This was one of the cupcake images that I loved, but didn't make it to the final cut.
Soon the whole series should be up.
Enjoy!

Penelope

Recently, I realised that I hadn't posted anything for ages! To re-start my posts, here is a photo of my chicken, Penelope :)

Canberra National Museum at night, panorama. Taken 27/9/11.
Another of Courage.
Courage - ISO 125 film photograph, produced traditionally in a darkroom. Taken for a photography assignment where we had to produce 5 images that were inspired by a book, movie or song. My series was inspired by the French movie "Amelie".
